2000's JAPAN Tango Crepe Fabric

This is dead stock from the 1990s of Tango Chirimen, made using twisting techniques unique to the Tango region in northern Kyoto Prefecture.

Tango Chirimen is originally often made using silk, but this is made using a synthetic fabric that is easy to handle and is piece dyed.
This fabric has beautiful, rich drape, is wrinkle-resistant, and dries quickly.
To make the most of the distinctive pattern, we recommend using it on a large surface such as as a room divider, interior decoration, or as a top.
